All Saints’ Church, Newton Heath – Urgent roof repairs
Urgent roof repair works to the Grade II Listed All Saints Church, Newton Heath, Manchester have commenced!
After many months of design by FPL and extensive consultation with Historic England and the Diocese of Manchester, the overall stability and the replacement of the failed slate roof covering are being rectified.
Following many years of water ingress and previous phases of work to address failed gutters, stonework erosion and dry rot outbreaks, the latest phase of work is being undertaken by Contractor Mather & Ellis.
Much to the relief of the PCC, HE and FPL, the team are looking forward to the replacement of the roof covering before preparing for further development work at this historic church founded prior to 1556 which is linked to Manchester Cathedral.
The current Georgian building was constructed in 1816 following the collapse of an earlier church in 1808.
