Listed Buildings and Conservation


Finlason Partnership has a wide range of experience working with historic and listed buildings throughout the UK. We regularly complete projects in close collaboration with English Heritage, the Heritage Lottery Fund and CADW.

We work with many different organisations looking after the restoration and specialist repair of large numbers of Grade I, II & II* listed buildings and churches.

FPL also acts as a Consultant undertaking architectural assessments and the preparation of reports including Statements of Significance, Heritage Statements and Design Justification and Access Statements in connection with Listed Building Applications, developments in Heritage Sites, Heritage Lottery Applications and Townscape Heritage Initiative areas for major conservation projects in historic towns or individual historic buildings or monuments.

We have completed a wide range of projects for charitable trusts, Council or grant-funded community organisations including those in regeneration, National Parks (NP), Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) and Conservation Areas (CA).

Architect Director, Alex Finlason is AABC accredited (Accredited Architect in Building Conservation) and has worked in the conservation of historic buildings for over twenty-five years and has developed a specialism in the repair of ecclesiastical buildings.

FPL has completed projects for Churches of numerous denominations, and are currently appointed as Church Architect’s for a large number of churches in Liverpool and the North West. FPL are also currently working with other religious groups including the design of the newly completed Education Centre, Oxford Road for the Church of Latter Day Saints, and working on Greenbank Synagogue in Liverpool.
